Tis the season for my 3rd icy Santa Speedo Run through the streets of Boston on December 8th with the SSRunners for my favorite charity, The Play Ball Foundation! Two years ago, I joined the Foundation immediately after I was introduced to such a passionate group - since I have joined the board and am leading our recruiting efforts for the next generation of speed(o) runners.
Last year, I raised more than $2,500 and despite epic snow/sleet storm managed to help lead the charge in a missized red Speedo and Santa Hat (photo evidence can be produced upon request). The event is a blast, silly in nature but designed that way to bring people together, create a buzz and ultimately raise more money for a far from silly cause.
I know everyone receives similar emails, and we all have organizations that we support. But if you have a little to give, remember how important team sports were to you, and please give what you can (encouraging the idea of me running down Boylston/Newbury in a speedo mid-December is an added bonus). Your donation is going directly to the 2019 sports teams and kids in need.

PB's mission today is to create and expand team sports opportunities for middle school age urban youth who are at a pivotal time of physical and emotional development. As many of us can personally relate, through the experience of team sports, PB seeks to inspire young athletes to succeed in school, become engaged in their school communities and develop life skills that will make them better prepared to enter high school and beyond.
Thank you for your consideration & support!
