This year, I will be participating in Boston's 14th annual Santa Speedo Run. We run around the city of Boston in the dead of winter to raise money for an amazing charity. This year, the charity is The Playball! Foundation.
Play Ball Foundation was founded to provide Boston middle school students with a chance to play, and build friendships and character through the lessons of sports - teamwork, communication and discipline. Our mission is to give Boston's inner city children opportunities to engage in athletic activities that will enhance their physical, social and emotional development. With a single goal of Getting More Feet on the Field we work directly with Boston middle schools to understand the needs that our fundraising can address in an easy and timely manner. Play Ball! is growing with the help of our volunteers -- young professionals interested in providing their time and resources and with the community of school administrators, coaches, parents and students.
I need to donate at least $400 by December 9, but I think we can raise a lot more! Anything you can contribute is greatly appreciated, and anyone that donates $20 or more will get the honor of having their name painted on my body as I run down the beautiful streets of Boston in 20 degrees!
